barleebread: Some old doodles again. I can’t really put into words how much I came to adore these two bc of season 6. It’s just a relationship that means a lot to me personally. Won’t go into details, but I know what it’s like to feel alone and lost as a youth and have that mentor or close friend who never gave up on you and loved you unconditionally during the toughest times in your life. Shiro’s just such a good person, and so is Keith largely thanks to him, and I’m just glad they are always looking out for each other when they need help. Can’t wait for people to see the season 7 premier at SDCC. 💞 Anyway, I talk too much. Pls excuse me while I cry over Black Paladins again. | x |

The bounty from todays art stream. I had 5 sketches that I did two days ago, and while I was planning on picking one of them to draw on stream I decided it would be more exciting to start from scratch. After all going from nothing to something is more watchable than me literally painting one spot for an hour.
So this is from the highchool au again, I’m not gonna tell you exactly what’s happening in the picture, you can take an educated guess (padumtish ah hah hah) and tbh I don’t really know much myself. I just draw a picture and show it to @akaiikowrites and then we squeal and explode for fifteen minutes together like a couple of school girls smoking pot in a campus lavatory and then Kaii makes magic happen.
This is a partnership where ideas are the currency, inspiration a by-product and some fucking good sheith a happy accident. Bless

Yes. In my opinion, their bond got much stronger after all that happened in the cloning base. You see, Keith fought Kuron thinking it was Shiro (I am gonna address Kuron like Shiro because Keith thought it was Shiro). There’s no in between. He went so hard, trying not to hurt Shiro even though Shiro went straight for killing him.

You know, the Black Lion was always there. And if you connect the things that happened later you know how Shiro was able to see what was going on or be fast enough to save Keith.

If Shiro saw everything that happened at the station, his connection to Keith grew stronger. He wanted to save Keith so much, that maybe finally something broke inside him. Their connection after the falling is so strong that Keith can call himself into the astral world. And that’s crazy. It was always Shiro who tried to contact the Paladins but Keith was never so close, in touch with him.

Yes, Shiro saw everything.

After such an extreme load Keith had to absorb, he also broke, just like Shiro who saw him falling/dying. The Black Paladins episode is very important for people who love Keith and Shiro. If you watch the episode with filtered googles like an anti or a hater you will never see what a person without shipping frame sees. You have to push away your shipping persona and even then you’ll see. This is what hit me like a fucking cannonball and wrecked me. The reality that this is not a marketing strategy or the creators feeding us with fanservice. It is real.

And then the episode slaps your brain with this frame:

Shiro is bathing in the light. And after him it’s Keith who’s face is lightened.

It’s the moment where Keith becomes Shiro’s guiding light and his savior. Even after what happened in the cloning station, Keith never let go of him. He never wanted to harm Shiro. He always believed that there’s good in Shiro’s heart. And goddamn he was right.

Then what happened with Shiro who was just watching and felt something’s wrong? The connection grew wilder. As when you’re getting closer to the source of the signal. At that moment all the walls went down. Keith was so vulnerable that he was willing to give everything to be with Shiro just for a moment longer and at the other side, Shiro who was captured in the lion didn’t see Keith as his only hope to return. He never hoped to go back in the first place. He just wanted to save Keith. There was nothing more, he was thinking nothing else but just to save him.

Keith literally forced his soul to travel into the astral world to find Shiro. If you know how the astral traveling is working, then you know how strong their connection must be. Keith’s soul found Shiro in the astral world. This time it wasn’t Shiro, but Keith.

After all these things that at the first look happened very randomly, Shiro and Keith lost all the walls between them. They’re very free at this moment, vulnerable to each other with no secret.

If you’re interested in quantum physics, where astral projection is very possible (hypothetically) then you also know that the theory of soulmates is confirmed. It’s not as we know it from books and movies, but is it in there in the world of atoms. Since Voltron universe is full of paradox and their own universe, I wouldn’t be surprised if in sheith case, the concept of soulmates works for 100%.

So even though Shiro never said I love you. I can guarantee, he feels such love inside that he has no idea what to do about it. Well, for now, he needs to rest.

They found each other again. In the lost, confused reality, they really saved each other and even more.
